Tafsir class resumes today!

The Tafsir class will resume today Wednesday January 23rd after Isha prayer. The Iqamah for Isha is 7:15pm.

Sleepover at the Masjid Tomorrow Monday 24th

Assalamo Alikom wa rahmato Allah wa Barakatoh,

There will be a sleepover tomorrow night from 8pm Monday to 8am Tuesday for all member of the family (brothers and sisters) at the Masjid. Adults, Teenagers, kids are all welcome with the exception of any kids that cannot be controlled. Bring the family and come spend a night of education and fun with the Muslims.

Salat al Janazah on Sunday, December 16 2012, 12:45pm

Assalam Aleikum Wa Rahmat Allah Wa Barakatuh,

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ileihi Rajioun.

The mother of Sohail Siddiqui has passed away after a prolonged illness.

There will be a Janazah prayer today Sunday December 16 at 12:34pm, Inshallah.

It is strongly recommended that as many members of the Muslim community as possible should join the funeral procession and Salat ul Janazah, so we ask everyone to be part of this.

Reminder of Fasting the day of 'Arafa tomorrow Thursday

Assalamo alikom wa rahmato Allah wa barakatoh,

We would like to remind you that the Day of 'Arafa is tomorrow insha Allah. Remember that fasting the day of 'Arafa has a great reward.

Abu Qatada al-Ansari (Radhi-Allah-hu 'anhu) reported:
that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said:
the fasting on the day of 'Arafa (9th of Dhu'I-Hijja) expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year.
[Sahih Muslim - Book #06 - Hadith #2603]

We are still collecting money for Eid celebration, we are $1500 short and we would like to encourage those who have not donated to do so.
If you would like to help in the preparation, we are meeting tomorrow between asr and maghrib to get everything ready, and right after fajr on Eid day.

Eid Al Adha Friday October 26th

Assalamo Alikom Wa Rahmato Allah Wa Barakatoh,

Eid Al Adha will be on Friday, October 26th Insha Allah.

Salat-ol Eid will be at 8:30 am at the Martin Luther King Jr. Park just like last Eid. For directions please click on the link bellow. If it is raining or too cold we will still be at the park but inside the building as there is ample of space inside.

If possible, please bring your favorite dish for Breakfast, we will have certain items prepared but we ask that you bring a dish with in order to have food proportional to the number of people that attend. You are also encouraged to bring a rug to pray on inside or outside.

We are still preparing for the Eid celebration. We would like to encourage everyone to donate generously so we can have a good Eid Celebration especially for the kids. We still did not collect the cost of our activities. We are short at least $2500 so we are asking you to donate generously. We are asking families to donate $25 and Singles to donate $10 but we strongly encourage those who can to donate more.

If you would like to help with your time we have a meeting today Wednesday between Maghrib and Isha and we are looking for volunteers to help prepare for Eid. If you cannot come to the meeting, give us your name and availability and we will count you in.

Eid Al Adha Preparation Meeting

Assalamo Alikom wa rahmato Allah wa barakatoh,

There will be a meeting tomorrow Wednesday October 10 between Maghrib and Isha in order to discuss the preparations for Eid. We are looking for ideas for new activities to do with children and adults this Eid. If you have any ideas please come and share them with us tomorrow. We are also looking to get a list of volunteers so if you want to be part of this Eid committee please come to the meeting.
